Virtual meetings with your Nexia advisor
You will be sent a calendar invitation from us to a virtual meeting through the Microsoft Teams platform. Within the calendar appointment you will see that we have added a “Join Microsoft Teams Meeting” link to the email. When it’s time to attend the meeting, simply open the meeting invite in your calendar and click on the link.
If you do not have Teams installed, you will be given the option to either join via your browser as a guest, or download a complimentary version of the Microsoft Teams application.
Sometimes it may be easier to join using a smart phone as it has camera and microphone capabilities. To join the meeting using your smart phone, simply click on ‘Join Microsoft Teams Meeting’. If you do not have Teams installed on your smart phone your browser will open, and it will direct you to download the Teams app from the App store.
Once you sign in as a guest, or log on, you will then see a ‘Join Now’ button and options to turn your camera and microphone on or off.
If you are unable to be in a private area or have background distractions during your meeting, we recommend blurring your background. The background blur feature within Teams cleverly blurs the surroundings behind you while leaving you clear and un-blurred. To activate background blur, click on the ellipsis “…” on the call menu and select “Blur my background”.
During your meeting with your Nexia advisor they may wish to show you their screen, to view your accounts etc. A command window will pop up and you can simply press accept. From there, your Nexia advisor controls what you can see on your screen. Your Nexia advisor cannot see your screen unless you also share your screen with them.
