After overcoming myocarditis and a torn pec tendon in 2018, our sponsored athlete, Jacko Gill, has had a fantastic 2019.

Jacko’s 2019 season started with a new Personal Best in the Czech Republic competition which saw him qualify for the Tokyo Olympics in August 2020. Jacko continued to improve in all of his five European competitions and as a result improved his Personal Best by a whopping 46cm in two months. At the World Championships in Doha in September, Jacko had his highest ever finish at a world event – 7th place, which puts him in a strong position for a medal in Tokyo.

In his build up to Tokyo, Jacko will compete at the World Indoor Championships in China in March and then head to Europe to compete during June and July.

The sponsorship we have provided Jacko has assisted him to compete at international competitions. Jacko believes that being able to participate in more international competitions is a key reason for his massive improvement this year.

The Hayes Knight team wish Jacko all the very best for his training and competitions over the coming months and ultimately for Tokyo in August.
