Nexia News: Nexia New Zealand Announces New CEO
Nexia New Zealand is pleased to announce Amy Murdoch will take over as Chief Executive Officer from 1st December 2018.
Graeme Marriott, retiring CEO, said how fortunate Nexia is to have a rising star like Amy, who has been operating as General Manager since joining Nexia two years ago. “Amy has been instrumental in the development of Nexia New Zealand following the merger of two leading Canterbury accounting firms, HFK and Marriotts. She possesses the necessary skills and vision to lead the firm. Amy is a strong communicator, client focused, and has proven to be an extremely capable leader”.
Amy has previously worked in both commercial and accountancy roles, which has given her a good understanding of what constitutes a successful professional services firm. “I am excited to have this opportunity and believe I bring a youthful strategic perspective to the role. I recognise that the profession is currently facing a number of challenges as practices transition into full service advisory firms, and this understanding leaves me well placed to drive Nexia forward”.
“Today’s accountant needs to have a broader range of people skills in addition to being competent, both technically and with technology. We continue to recruit well rounded staff whose thinking is aligned with the firm’s ongoing strategic desire to be the leading advisory firm of choice” said Amy.
Chairman of the Board of Directors and Nexia New Zealand Partner Craig Melhuish has commented on what a great asset Amy is to the Firm. “She is a driven, positive and engaging leader for all of the growing Nexia team. We are extremely pleased to have appointed someone of Amy’s calibre, and I look forward to working with her as we continue to support our clients”.
