It’s set to be a day of fun with entertainment, games, rides and toy giveaways that will put smiles on the faces of children who are unwell or come from very underprivileged circumstances. The SKY TV Special Children’s Christmas Parties in association with NZME are the biggest events of their kind in New Zealand for special needs children and their families. By sponsoring this event, we’re helping some of the most deserving children in our community.

Nexia NZ were proud to support Bayleys Plate Up for a Purpose. Amy Murdoch, our CEO, was one of 12 Canterbury CEO’s taking on the challenge of cooking for 180 guests (under the watchful eye of professionals), in order to raise funds for the Christchurch City Mission’s Back to School Programme.

Nexia NZ are supporting Mens Health through November. Yesterday, as part of this fund raising campaign, we were fortunate to hear from Steve Benton of Rede Advisers. Steve took the time to share with us his experience of dealing with Prostate Cancer for the last 5 years. Steve had the audience totally mesmerised for a full forty minutes with his frank, sincere, and at times scary recollection of his life after receiving THAT CALL – ‘you have tested positive for cancer’.

The Pūkeko Centre have been selected as a semi-finalist for the Mitre 10 Community of the Year in the 2019 New Zealander of the Year Awards. The Centre is a multi-use sports and recreation hub providing facilities for a range of organisations, clubs and groups.

There is a long and strong tradition in accounting of supporting local not for profit organisations and charities. Otorohonga-based Bailey Ingham, for instance, completes financial accounts and provides pro bono advice to a whopping 120 organisations, from clubs through to charitable trusts. Directors and some staff also serve on boards and committees, often in a financial capacity.
