With a career spanning engineering, energy, technology, and professional services, Alasdair began as a Civil Engineer before moving into senior roles in the electricity and IT sectors. He went on to establish and lead New Zealand’s first national electricity retail company, First Electric, and later became a Partner at Deloitte, where he spent more than a decade advising organisations on strategy, growth, and transformation.
Since relocating to Hawke’s Bay, Alasdair has continued to play a key role in both business and community life. He chaired Napier Port through its successful IPO and the development of a $200m wharf, and today chairs several organisations including Tradewindow and Silverstripe, and has recently stepped down as Chair from Hawke’s Bay Regional Economic Development Agency (REDA), and Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawke’s Bay. He also serves as an Independent Director on the Board Appointments Committee for IHC and is Chairman of the Board at Kotahi Engineering Studio.
