Kasey has over ten years’ experience specialising in insolvency. A career that began as an in-house solicitor with a government organisation managing the South Island insolvency portfolio. Kasey then went on to work for a large private law firm in Christchurch, enjoying the challenge of debt collection and insolvency work; she gained a broader understanding of general dispute resolution and more complex litigation during this time.
Kasey joined the team as Insolvency Manager at Nexia NZ in 2014, she has a deep understanding of insolvency and knows what to look for, and what the warning signs are, even before Liquidation or Receivership has been considered as an option for creditors. It’s because of this that she can assist Nexia’s Liquidators and Receivers, as well as other staff members, in all aspects of debt related and insolvency assignments across various industries. She brings an intuitive approach to her work, recognising the stresses inherent to this area of practice for debtors and creditors, individuals and corporates.
Kasey holds a current legal practising certificate, as well as membership to the New Zealand Law Society, Canterbury-Westland District Law Society, ILANZ (In-house Lawyers Association) and RITANZ (Recovery, Insolvency and Turnaround New Zealand), and is a committee member of Women in Recovery & Insolvency (WIRI) Christchurch.
Outside of work, Kasey is a keen tennis player, having been a member of the Southbridge Tennis Club for a number of years, and enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children.
